phew!

yay~ finally i got rid of my 2 mid term tests today!! so happy now! had been mugging hard for the 2 subjects for the past few days. :/ hopefully all the effort can be translated into gd results.

it seems like a long time since i last took a test, about a year ago… wows… had to spend some time to get myself into the studying momentum. the 2 subjects all require memory work and  i had to keep writing n writing… somehow i really miss maths n chem. at least they r not purely memory work.

though i’m not a totally a science person, but i guess i’m not a total arts person as well. i prefer to have half-half. that’s y i have my jc subject combi! hehe thinking back, i had made the right choices!

been adapting well in beijing (even my roommate agrees! :P). so far so gd haha i thk God really love me a lot! thank God! Hehe but i still miss my family!  every time mum called, i will ask her the same question, ‘when r u coming to visit me?????’ it’s my ultimate dream la! really hope they can come n see me soon!

these few days have been busy. haha not busy with homework though. been practising a dance item that we the year 1s have to put up for tmr’s international cultural festival. it’s a major event in beida n each country will get a booth to display their stuff. for the singapore booth, we are giving out food like rojak, bah kwa. n the seniors are gg to do the singapore work out! haha thk it will be a super fun n exciting day! look out for photos on the event on facebook soon! :p

oh the weather’s  getting colder now. i hate the strong winds. it really makes me shiver… :/ starting to worry abt the long n super cold winter that’s arriving soon! haha maybe i shall just stay in my room the whole day n call for food delivery! hehe :p n i need to get myself more winter clothings soon…

friday’s fellowship was good! yay! happiness! thank god! mutual encouragement n the fellowship we have here really keeps me gg on…

haha thking back, friday was a super healthy day for me. oh man many will nt believe this loh, i went for 2 hours of badminton training in the afternoon! it’s like the first time i really exercise since i came here! n that’s probably why my body still aches 2 days later. :/ now i hate climbling stairs n walking for too long! haizz friends here all say i’m getting old le. haha but it’s natural wad…:P

hm actually it’s not a very formal badminton training la. anw, after that 2 hours, i’m still not very clear of all the rules for the game. oh n sth that’s even more unbelievable is…i am taking part in a freshies’ badminton competition! oh man! n the reason why i got involved in this is just because i randomly said sth like “i like to play badminton!” haha n i said it when one of the seniors in the badminton team was ard. haaa bad timing i guess. n i thk i said it too enthusiastically then.

those who had played badminton with me before shld know that i’m nt very gd in it. so a bit scared for the competition. but i guess i shall just haf fun!! got nth to lose anw. n i even get to exercise regularly! hehe n of cos most imptly i will nt get rounder n rounder in winter!

oh a gd news to share here. me n my roommate as well as a few other christians in beijing will be starting a bible study class next friday. will be studying romans for this semester. :DD

hurray!!

this morning i went to an english church for sunday service. it’s called haidian christian church. went to the chinese one 2 weeks ago. haha okies, i’m gg to make a very impt decision here. i thk i will go to this church from nw on. i like their service!!! love all the songs they sing n the sermon’s good too!! haah so happy :DD

it’s such a great feeling to be in church worshipping God. for no reason, tears just start to run down my face when i’m singing all the songs. i just feel that i am super blessed n God is with me no matter where i go. the strength n joy i found in Him is so overwhelming that i just couldnt control my tears. the sermon the pastor gave today is very encouraging n inspirational as well. :DD

today’s last day of my short break, sch will resume tmr. hmm took some gd rest in these few days. so hopefully i’m recharged for the days ahead. need to really study from now onwards… :/ oh haha tonite the 9 of us cooked our dinner tgt. it’s quite messy, but i guess we all enjoyed the food! n guess wad they are delicious la! haha din get to cook my na2 shou3 dishes cos they din prepare those ingredients i need. :/ nvm, i will try next time!!

ooo one more thg, i just bought a new bike today!! it costs 290 yuan. hmm nt too ex n not too cheap oso. woohoo i shall ride ard from now on!! :p envious ba? hehe

the golden week’s coming!! :D

haha we haf holidays after less than 2 weeks of lessons!!! so shuang rite? heeh envious? it will be from 1st oct to 5th oct. will be gg tianjin for one day n i will get to taste the legendary 狗不理包子 n also 猫不闻饺子(anyone heard of this before? :/)  

as for the rest of the hols, i plan to do nothing n take a gd rest. just recovered from flu so i dun wan to get myself too tired n drained. oh tried cycling in beijing uni today. it was really scary n very challenging. everywhere there’s pple n other bicycles n even cars. so to pass through all the crowd smoothly takes really high cycling skills which i haf yet to master. haha so ur can imagine how 狼狈 n unglam i was on the road. had to keep stopping once i saw a larger grp of pple coming. so xinku lo. but i’ll surely become a cycling expert after 4 yrs here. hehe

oh last sun, i went to the international church in beijing. they had an african choir, cool rite? nice songs but sad that i dun know how to sing them. the sermon was very good though. will still be gg to other churches n see which one is most suitable for me. :DD

starting to miss the 团契times i had with all of ur. hope ur are well! oh for some strange reason, i cun seem to upload my photos on this blog, so i guess i will just upload them onto facebook.

church!

yesterday morning i went to a local chinese church for sunday service with my senior. the service was only one hour long with a sermon n few hymns. i could only sing one song. :/ the sermon was titled “毕士大的池边”. the pastor compared the world we are in today to the 毕士大池边 where all the disabled people gather, waiting for treatment. indeed, the world we live in now are full of people who are “disabled” in one way or another n they are all waiting for treatment from God. oh n the pastor mentioned my favourite bible verse!! hehe it’s “我靠着那加给我力量的，凡事都能做。”from 腓立比书 4：13

it’s so great to be back in church again. though i only missed church on one sunday, it feels like i haven been to church for a very long time. n that’s certainly not a good feeling. oh n we also had the chance to join the last 2 songs of the english service. n i actually know the songs! so happy to sing familiar songs they are “it is well” n ”this is the day”. haha happiness!! :DD yay!

next week we will be going to the international church here. hopefully i can find a suitable church soon n settle on one church. :D 

n i took 2 photos of the church but dun noe why, i can’t upload them onto this blog. will figure out, but if really cannot thk i will just upload to facebook ba. 

haha suddenly think that i shld talk a bit about the food here. hmm the food here, as expected are more salty n oily than average. so for every meal, i will always drink lots of chinese tea. though i’m not very pro in cooking, but i really hope that i can cook my own meals sometimes. at least it is healthier. oh but there’s a lot of canteens in beida so i have quite a number of choices. for the first few days, my appetite was quite good. haha among the girls, thk i ate the most rice. i can finish one bowl of rice on my own whereas the other girls will share one among 2-3 pple.  but these few days, i’m starting to eat less n less le. :/ hehe maybe subconsciously i’m trying to avoid james’ “圆” theory of me getting more n more 圆 in beijing. :P 

haha i must prove ur wrong! okie next time, i shall just share rice with 3 pple. :p

first post in beijing

waaa i still couldn’t believe that i’ve been in beijing for over a week only. it really seems like a super long time. maybe it’s because i’ve been packed with random stuff every day. the first few days were packed with shopping for necessities n registration matters.

i dun really know how to put my feelings into words here. :/ but i guess i’m starting to adapt to the life here. trying hard to really enjoy all the activities.

okie will update more when i haf internet connection for my own comp.

great dinner :D

tonight i had a gd dinner with wanglaoshi. really wanted to thank him for everythg he has done for me. without him i dun thk i will even be gg to beida today. he was the one who told me not to give up at the moment when i really thought all hopes were gone.

haha given the person wls has always been, he shared with me a lot of important life lessons. some are truly deep sia, haha he said i will understand better when i grow older. haizz he always gives me things to thk about.

oh btw, just something i would like to share here. i will be staying together with my senior who is gg to be yr 4. and the best news is that she is also a christian!!! i was so elated when i heard the word “church” from her. finally i found fellow christians at beida!! hehe so when she asked us who want to be her roommate, i just volunteered! wun it be nice if we can go to church tgt every sunday? haha really happy sia!

hmm but it wun be easy living with someone you don’t really know. hopefully we can get along well n i certainly hope that we can become spiritual buddies as well! pray for us!
